Mum and Baby Yoga

In this fun Mum and Baby yoga class, gentle postnatal yoga moves are practiced to support postnatal recovery of Mum whilst bonding with baby. 

Babies are involved with therapuetic touch, baby yoga moves, watching, sleeping, feeding, playing, and whatever they want to do.  The classes are suitable from 4-6 weeks after birth and this class provides an opportunity for Mums to do something for themselves as well as their babies!    Particular attention is paid to toning and strengthening the pelvic floor and abdominals.  Muscle tension arising from feeding or carrying babies is alleviated by specific stretches which release and open the back and shoulders.  For your baby the yoga supports their individual developmental progress, promoting optimum health in physical, cognitive and social aspects.

The classes are really very relaxed and flexible themselves as babies often have their own ideas, so we adapt things to meet everybody’s needs.   Every class ends with a lovely shared relaxation with your baby.

The relaxation, refreshments and chat all help Mums to feel refreshed and energised.
